Jobbannons

We are searching for a competent and highly motivated post doc researcher to join us at the division of Electric Power Engineering to contribute to the research and education in the area of sustainable electric power system. We constantly encourage individual growth in an open-minded, collaborative, and positive working environment, and look forward to your contribution to the team.

Information about the project and the department

FLEXDIS will analyse the impact that distributed renewable generation have on the grid stability and explore potential solutions based on flexibility from the renewable generation and the demand. The impact of distributed generation will be analysed in terms of frequency and voltage regulation at transmission grid. The existing limitations from distributed renewable generation will be evaluated, in particular inverter-based resources (IBR), in case of power imbalances and faults. Solutions to ensure sufficient power reserve include flexible demand from thermal and electric vehicle loads. The project solutions will be first tested in a simulation and the final validations will be carried out using Hardware-in-the-Loop setups and tests in a living lab. The project outcomes are expected to improve the coordination between transmission and distribution system operators and identify potential modifications in the IBR controls and ancillary services at distribution grid level.

The project is a 2 year Post Doc project at the Division of Electric Power Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, with collaboration within the FLEXDIS CET Partnership consortium with members from both universities and industries.

At the Department of Electrical Engineering, we conduct research and education in areas such as Communications, Antennas and Optical Networks, Systems and Control, Signal Processing and Biomedical Engineering, and Electric Power Engineering.
