A full-time employment as a doctoral student is attached to this third-cycle studies which corresponds to four years. 

Position description

We are loking for a highly motivated PhD student to contribute to the project "GANCOM: GAN-based Chaotic Modulation for Secure Wireless Communication." The aim of this project is to explore the use of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to generate unpredictable chaotic signals for securing wireless communications. The PhD student will be actively involved in designing, conducting, and disseminating research focused on securing wireless communications.

The employment mainly involves doctoral studies where the candidate independently, but with support from a supervisor, will plan and conduct scientific studies. In addition, the student will be responsible for writing academic papers and completing the required coursework for the PhD degree. The position may also include up to 20% teaching or other departmental duties.                        

Qualifications

For basic eligibility, the following is required:

• A degree at an advanced level.
• At least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 are at an advanced level.
• Equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad through other means.

Specific eligibility requirements for this position include having the following:

• a master’s degree in computer science. Students with equivalent knowledge may also be admitted.     

Assessment criteria

Prior to employment, consideration must be given to the ability to assimilate third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education.

For this position, particular attention will be paid to the following;

• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, particularly Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), as well as time series and sequence prediction methods like RNNs and LSTMs is highly desirable.
• Solid foundation in statistics and mathematics.
• Proficiency in programming languages, including Python and Matlab.
• Proficiency in English both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with chaotic systems is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of electromagnetic waves and wireless communication systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of security principles in computer networks is beneficial.
• Experience in writing scientific publications is a plus.
